Nojiri takes step towards title at Motegi

Tomoki Nojiri (Team Mugen) is riding the wave. The day after his pole position and lap record at Motegi (Japan), scene of the fifth round of Super Formula 2021, the Japanese dominated the debates this Sunday, August 29.

He was ahead of Yuki Sekiguchi (Team Impul) and Nobuharu Matsushita (B-Max) by a few seconds, but was never really worried by the two men.

In the championship, and with only two rounds remaining, the 31-year-old driver has a comfortable lead of 35 points over his direct pursuer, Toshiki Oyu (Nakajima Racing). He had never been so well placed since his arrival in the discipline in 2014.
