George Russell (ART GP) continues its domination over the Austrian weekend of F2 by signing an authoritative pole position in 1'13''541. The British, 2e in the championship, leads ahead of the two Carlins of Lando Norris and Sergio Sette Câmara by more than two tenths. Jack Aitken completes the Carlin-ART GP quartet by placing 4e.

Unhappy in France, Arjun Maini (Trident) consoles himself with the 5e time and ahead of Maximilian Günther (Arden), particularly at ease on his home track. Louis Delétraz (Charouz) signs a good performance in 7e position.

Alexander albon (DAMS) only manages to do better than 8e and is ahead of the last winner by six thousandths: Nyck de Vries (Prema). Tadasuke Makino (Russian Time) completes the top 10 in qualifying.
