A few weeks before the start of the 8th season, the transfer market is agitated Formula E. After Antonio Giovinazzi's announcement at Dragon / Penske Autosport or the arrival of Maximilian Günther at Nissan, it's Andretti's turn to communicate his second driver. The American team announced the signing of Oliver Askew. He will become the first American driver to participate in a full season in the electric single-seater championship. Aged 24, he will be at the wheel of the BMW iFE.021 and will wear the number 28. He becomes Jake Dennis' new teammate.

“I am beyond excited to return home and once again join Andretti full-time for the 2022 Formula E championship, points out Oliver Askew. Being able to begin this chapter of my career with them means more than words can describe. Being the only proven driver to represent the United States in Formula E is something I am very proud of. I look forward to getting to work as soon as possible.”

Last season, Andretti finished in 6th place. In five days, on November 29, pre-season testing will take place in Valencia. The 8th Formula E season will begin on January 28 with the Diriyah E-Prix (Saudi Arabia).
