Josef Newgarden was the fastest during the second free practice session on the Road America road course.
With a best lap of 1’45”3399, the Penske driver beat Colton Herta (Andretti) by 1/10th, and Graham Rahal (RLL) by 3/10ths.
Best time in EL1, Romain Grosjean confirmed the good performance of his #51, with which he set the 4th fastest time, less than three hours before the start of the qualifying session (20:30 p.m. HF).
Still on the tricolor side, Sébastien Bourdais (AJ Foyt) was 8th fastest in the session, while simon pagenaud, 17th in EL1, remains behind, with a 14th fastest time.
Note the 5th time of Oliver Askew, who plays freelance for Ed Carpenter, after replacing Felix Rosenqvist (McLaren SP), at short notice. This weekend, he comes to compensate for the absence of Rinus VeeKay, victim of a bicycle accident (clavicle).
