It's a name that had disappeared from the radar screens and which returns by surprise. Roberto Merhi will make a small comeback in Formula 2, weekend time in Austria. The Spaniard at the 13 Grands Prix Formula 1 was called up by the Campos Racing team to compensate for the absence of Ralph Boschung, still suffering from neck pain.

The ex-Formula 1 driver, who raced with the late Manor team in 2015, returns to the Spanish team in F2. He had already completed a few stints with Campos Racing in 2017 and 2018. The Spaniard then participated in the Asian Le Mans Series in 2019 before going into exile in Japan to participate in the SuperGT championship.
Roberto Merhi did not hide his joy at returning to car. “I’m excited to drive Ralph’s car. I will do my best to achieve good results to live up to the trust that Ralph, his sponsors and Campos Racing have placed in me. I drove an F2 car for the very last time in 2018 with Campos Racing. I even got on the podium at Yas Marina. I really like the Spielberg circuit, it's a good place to come back. »
