Ryo Hirakawa wins at Autopolis, Sacha Fenestraz second

Ryo Hirakawa emerged victorious in the fourth round of the Super Formula season at Autopolis (Japan). The Team Impul driver delivered an excellent, masterful performance. Starting 8th on the starting grid, the Japanese had a great start, propelled to 3rd place on the first lap behind pole sitter Tomoki Nojiri (Team Mugen) and Tadasuke Makino (Dandelion Racing).

Après intervention de la voiture de sécurité sur une sortie de piste de Toshiki Oyu, Hirakawa a pu subtiliser la 2e place de Makino. Le pilote de Toyota en Hypercar a finalement récupéré la tête de course avec une stratégie d’overcut sur Nojiri à la mi-course. Tout en gestion, Hirakawa a remporté à Autopolis sa deuxième victoire cette saison, après la course inaugurale à Fuji.

Behind, it was Sacha Fenestraz (Kondo Racing) who came in 2nd place. The Frenchman modeled his strategy on that of the winner of the day, a profitable choice for him who scored his second podium this season. Atsushi Miyake (Team Goh) completes the top 3. Giuliano Alesi (Team TOM’S) finally retired a few laps from the finish and is classified 19th.

With this new success, Ryo Hirakawa is back in the championship and stands out from the peloton. Second with 60 points, he is getting closer to the leader in the standings, Tomoki Nojiri (67 points). Thanks to his podium, Sacha Fenestraz moves to third place in the championship (35 points).
