The Brazilian, who just signed for the Mahindra team in 2023, will therefore go to the front line. Mitch Evans, runner-up in the championship, will absolutely have to score big points in the race to maintain his hopes of the title. The Jaguar driver will start 3rd while the championship leader, Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes), is in 4th line in 7th place. The Belgian could be champion from this Race 1. He only needs 23 points over the entire weekend (in the worst case). For Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah), on the other hand, hopes are dashed. Qualified 9th, the Frenchman definitively said goodbye to the title by not scoring the pole position point. Norman Nato (Jaguar) will start 11th, him who replaces Sam Bird this weekend.
