The one and only free practice session of the meeting Formula 2 from Monza was dominated by Daniel Ticktum (Carlin). The Briton beat the Frenchman Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix/+0″225), visibly not disturbed by the rumors which make him a potential candidate for a seat in F1 next season with Alfa Romeo. The leading trio is completed by the other Carlin driver Jehan Daruvala (+0″233). Also note the fine 4th place of David Beckmann (Campos), for his first with the Spanish team, and the presence in the top 10 of the two Trident drivers, with Marino Sato 6th and Bent Viscaal 8th. The championship leader Oscar piastri (Prema) ranks 5th, while Guanyu-Zhou he is 13th.
