A new sustainable tire will appear

Sustainability is one of the main points that different championships are working on. In order to reduce its environmental impact, theIndyCar for example decided to rely on its tires supplied by the manufacturer Firestone.

As part of its sustainable plan, IndyCar will offer a new type of “ecological” tire coming from guayule (a shrub native to America) during the season. Distinguished by its green stripe, the color often attributed to ecology and sustainability, this eraser is “ partially composed of a new sustainable natural rubber derived from guayule, which requires fewer harvests than traditional sources of rubber."

While it will make its first public appearance in May as part of a pit stop challenge at the Indy 500, IndyCar and Firestone's new durable tire will make its competitive debut at Big Machine Music City Grand Prix of Nashville (August 5-7).
