Departure this evening of the 53rd Tour Auto de La Réunion

The 53rd Tour Auto de La Réunion sets off on Friday evening from Barachois to Saint-Denis, with 99 competitors at the start. Olivier Bardeur and Damien Dorseuil, victorious in the first two races of the year on the island, will try to continue their good series. Farouk Moullan will be there for the pleasure and the podium, with the only WRC of a royal platter.

The field of this 53rd Tour Auto looks really great. The route gives pride of place to the West. No less than 11 Rally2s will be at the start, with newcomers like Georges Honorine (Fabia) or Lionel Cadet (Polo). Stéphane Sam-Caw-Freve will be good at the start too. If he has rented his Fiesta R5 for the rest of the season, we cannot resist the sirens of the Tour Auto, especially when we have already won it 3 consecutive times in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

By adding theAlpine de Meddy Gerville, la BMW de Malik Unia, la Porsche de Philippe Sam-Caw-Freve, les 207 S2000 de Laravine et Filaumart, ou le petit troupeau des 208 RC4 dans le challenge Rally4, le plateau de cette 53e édition ne pourra que ravir tous les passionnés réunionnais. A noter que Farouk Moullan sur la seule WRC du plateau, ne pourra pas marquer de points au championnat avec une voiture de cette catégorie.

The Michelin Rallye Tour sets down in Reunion Island for its 16th stage and is logically full of participants in this land fertile in automotive passion. From Bardeur, to Grondin, via Law-Long and Barret, the main scratch favorites will compete for victory in the 4-wheel drive category. In the end, 16 competitors will set off this evening to tackle the Reunion specials.
