The legend of WRC is back! Sebastian Loeb is already on the pace in Greece and took the best time on SS2, the first special of the day on Friday. The nine-time world champion clocked 12’26″8 on a very dusty special. Thanks to his time, the Alsatian takes the lead in the Rally of the Acropolis.
Loeb leads a French double since Pierre-Louis Loubet (2nd, +0″8) impressed on this SS2 with the 2nd time. Long ahead of the special, the Corsican gave up a few tenths at the end of the course, disturbed by the dust.
Among the favorites, Thank you (3rd, +1″3) and Rovanperä (4th, +2″6) are there. The two drivers, who started first, were the least bothered by the dust that all the competitors complained about. Thierry Neuville (5th, +3″0) was very angry at the finish, pointing out the too short interval between starts. The stewards made the decision to extend the gap between each start to 4 minutes for the next special stages.
