Beaten last year by Laurent Bayard, Marc Amourette returned to Sambre-Avesnois to try to take a friendly revenge. Fastest in action, the boss of Trajectoire Racing gradually gained momentum before definitely widening the gap in the last loop, contested entirely in the rain. Bayard made a mistake in the final special but nevertheless managed to keep his runner-up seat. Having the way clear after the rapid withdrawal of Frédéric Rimbeaux, the Pruvot couple completed the podium, not without a last minute scare. Having switched to all-wheel drive during the season, Frédéric Perrard took his Mitsubishi Gr.N to a remarkable 4th place overall ahead of the more advanced Tournay mount. The Perrin “rocket” still betrayed by the mechanics, Alexis Rimbeaux granted himself, despite some adventures, the group F2000 ahead of Leclercq and the returning Ryez. Finally, success and title for Pinheiro in the N2 Series challenge. B. Sailly
