Former winner of the Ain-Jura Rally

Rally Ain-Jura (2nd division). May 27-28

Double 2014-2015 winner Ludovic Ghirardi dominated the event by taking seven scratches out of the rally's eight, but a three-minute penalty for being ahead of schedule during the first stage ruined his hopes of a final victory. Starting in 97th position for the second stage, he failed 1'10 behind the winner Jérémy Ancian who, for the occasion, had rented a 207 S 2000 and was riding with the deposit check in his head. Behind this duo, we found the 1996 winner, Yves Pezzutti. In group R, Mickaël Lobry wins like last year, with a 50'' lead over Besson who erases his bad memory of 2015 (abandonment in SS1). In F2000, Mathieu Artzner (106 S 16) was leading by a wide margin and was 8th overall when he crashed out in SS 6, leaving Sébastien Dommerdich to take victory. In Group N, Giraud (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo7) took the lead at the end of the 1st stage before abandoning and Mollas won as in 2015 after the exclusion of Boschung (Clio) for technical non-compliance. In GT, Gonnet (Lotus Exige), in the lead after the first stage, retired after SS3 and left Million-Brodaz alone for the group victory. In the end, as part of the 2nd division French rally championship, it is Lobry who leaves with valuable points for the future. F. Lombard
