Jean-Marie Cuoq (Focus WRC) is more than ever on track to win the title today at the finish of Rally of the Cévennes. The leader of the event sees his direct rival Freddy Loix (Peugeot 307 WRC) abandon following a hydraulic problem. Germain Bonnefis signs the best time of the Tourgueille special? ND de la Rouvière, ahead of Julien Maurin’s Fiesta WRC by 7”8. Jeean-Marie Cuoq is no longer under pressure and is content to maintain by finishing 25 seconds from the scratch.

Jean-Marie Cuoq has a lead of more than three minutes with two stages to go. Julien Maurin inherits second position following the retirement of Freddy Loix. Jean-François Mourgues finds himself on the provisional podium with his 206 WRC. Germain Bonnefis finds himself fourth ahead of Renault Clio R3C of Boris Carminati who still dominates Group R. The special was stopped following the exit of Laurent Clutier who was leading the Twingo R2 category.
