Jean-Marie Cuoq (Ford Focus WRC) achieved a first scratch in SS1 allowing him to lead the Rallyes des Cévennes with a large lead. Germain Bonnefis distinguished himself in the following special by being the fastest with his 207 S2000 and thus took second place with 27 seconds behind the Championship leader. The provisional podium is completed by the Peugeot 206 WRC of Jean-François Mourgues who is only 2”8 behind second position. Julien Maurin (Fiesta RS WRC) follows in fourth, almost ten seconds behind. Freddy Loix, the leader's only rival for the title, is only fifth in his 307 WRC and is already more than 42 seconds behind the leader of the race. The rain complicates the task of the crews and could create surprises.
