Freddy Loix (Peugeot 307 WRC) signs the scratch in the La Cadière – Sumène special with a time of 9’07”4. The Belgian is 10”6 ahead of leader Jean-Marie Cuoq (Focus WRC) who lost time following a spin. Julien Maurin (Fiesta WRC) follows just over a second behind. Germain Bonnefis (Peugeot 207 S2000) is fourth at 15”4. Jean-François Mourgues (Peugeot 206 WRC) fails 50 seconds after a spin.
Jean-Marie Cuoq maintains a lead of 25”7 over Freddy Loix while Germain Bonnefis follows in third position, 15”6 behind the Belgian. Julien Maurin took advantage of Jean-François Mourgues' error to climb to fourth place with almost ten seconds ahead of the 206 WRC.
