CFRT Cardabelles – Franceschi controls

Very close to winning his first title of French Rally Champion on Earth, Mathieu Franceshi (Fabia Rally2 evo) dominated the first day with five best times out of six possible.

Engaged this season with the Fiesta Rally2 in the colors of the FFSA, Yacco and their partners, Florent Todeschini managed to contain the leader's ambitions. Indeed, the 2021 Junior Champion is less than 20 seconds behind, including a scratch in SS 5. 

Two drivers stood out for the fight for third place on the podium: Benjamin Clémençon (Polo GTi R5) and Matthieu Margaillan (Fabia R5). The first city took advantage of the “lack of confidence” of the Skoda driver to grab the third step of the podium during the last special of the day.

Eric Rousset (C4 WRC) completed the Top 5 just ahead of Frantz Comoli (DS 3 WRC).

In two-wheel drive, Quentin Ribaud (Clio Rally4) was ahead of Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (Clio Rally4).

In the fight for the title in the Clio Trophy, Julien Pontal (Clio Rally5) finished the day in 3rd place behind Florian Condamine (Clio Rally5), the leader and Laurent Reuche (Clio Rally5), second with 1,2 seconds behind. advances on Pontal. At the head of the Trophy, Florian Bouchonneau (Clio Rally5) is content with 10th place, almost 2 minutes from first place.

Mickael Caumes (Lancer Evo 9 R4) finished this first stage at the head of the Yacco 4RM Trophy ahead of Pierre Raymond (Lancer Evo 9).

Four special stages and more than sixty kilometers are on the program for the 2nd stage scheduled for tomorrow.
