Leader of the French Championship, Quentin Giordano (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) suffered a mechanical problem (longitudinal shaft) and lost more than 30 seconds from the best time. Third at Mont-Blanc, Hugo Margaillan (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) stopped in this first special.
