Croatia, SS9 – Neuville better awake than Evans
The first Saturday special staged on the Rally of Croatia 2023 was a great opportunity for Elfyn Evans (Toyota) to put pressure on the leader Thierry Neuville (Hyundai). Unfortunately, the Welshman starts his day “inside” and concedes 5 seconds to the Belgian. Enough to allow Neuville to completely double his lead at the head of the elements!
The special was won by Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota), who benefits from an advantageous starting position; he is first this Saturday.
In WRC2, Yohan Rossel (Citroën) remains leader. His compatriot Pierre-Louis Loubet (Ford Puma Rally1) hit a rail and was worried about the damage sustained to his car.
The next special will take place from 9:05 a.m. (Vinski Vrh – Duga Resa 1, 8,78 km).
