An accident by Oliver Solberg forced the organization of the 2022 Croatia Rally to cancel the ninth special after the passage of the first six cars.

Croatia – SS9: Solberg retires, special canceled

The first special of the second stage of the Rally de Croatie 2022 a été fatale à Oliver Solberg et Eliott Edmondson (Hyundai). Le fils du champion du monde des rallyes 2003 Petter Solberg est sorti de la route et doit abandonner, alors qu’il se situait à la cinquième place de l’épreuve.

Emergency vehicles had to intervene; the special was therefore interrupted, then canceled. However, the crew " is OK " according to the Hyundai Motorsport team.

The Hyundai Motorsport team provided some details on Oliver Solberg's retirement in SS9: “The car left the road, damaging the rear part of the vehicle. The exhaust then caught fire and the rest of the car began to burn. The fire was brought under control shortly after. We will collect the car and begin our analysis of the damage. »
