Finland – SS13: Rovanperä confirms and threatens Lappi

Second consecutive scratch for Kalle Rovanperä during SS13 of the Rally Finland, who came within 5 seconds of Esapekka Lappi in 2nd place. The Top 3 is held in less than 12 seconds.

Kalle Rovanperä continues its rise. The Finn signed his 2nd consecutive scratch during SS13 on the Rally from Finland, with a time of 6’34”2. The championship leader dominated his compatriot and teammate, Esapekka Lappi (2nd, +1″7), on the 13-kilometer special. Overall, Rovanperä continues to eat up time on the two leaders: he is only 11″6 behind.Ott Tänak (4th, +3″3) and only 4″8 from Lappi.

Elfyn Evans (3rd, +3″2) lost some more time and found herself 3″9 off the podium. A little further behind, Thierry Neuville (5th, +9″6) is consolidating its 5th place. The Belgian gained another 3″4 extra margin over Takamoto Katsuta (6th, +13″0) behind him. Note a new mechanical problem for Jari Huttunen (10th, +59″3), who lost his power steering in the special. The Finn will have to live with it for the last special of the first loop, before returning to assistance after SS14.
