Races France/Rallies – South-West (April 9-10)

The impressive Skoda R5 from Blésois held its own against the competition and the clash for the place of runner-up kept its promises: Bézinaud, demonstrating that the old ones are still standing, and J.-L. Roché surrendered blow for blow, concluding with a particularly slim margin. The hierarchy displayed at the end of the 1st stage (4SS out of a total of 10) was confirmed in the second half. Martin, only racing two or three rallies per season, finished brilliantly at the bottom of the pedestal, while being wary of the very consistent Hirigoyen threat. Sauteur easily won in Group N over the other Mégane RS from Habonneau. “Bad luck” column inaugurated by Lacouture, although crowned with a recent scratch victory, the BMW Compact giving up from the start. This event, with a coefficient of 4, deserves a more quantitative field given the efforts of the organizers. It was lined with a rally VH where the Cadillon family stood out; for six seconds, Claude's BMW 320 got the better of Bruno's 205 Gti. J. Teitgen
