Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) a trouvé le bon mode de travail avec son nouveau copilote Vincent Landais sur ce Rally du Japon 2022. Les Français signent un nouveau temps scratch dans cette deuxième étape et en profitent pour déborder Gus Greensmith (M-Sport Ford) pour le match de la cinquième position.

In the general classification, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) grignote 2″6 sur le leader de la compétition, Elfyn Evans (Toyota). Le Gallois ne compte plus que 3″9 de marge sur le Belge.
