Japan, SS2 – Car burned for Dani Sordo, puncture for Sébastien Ogier

The second special of Rally of Japan 2022, which served as the first significant timed sector in this final of the World Rally Championship, has already claimed several victims, including Sébastien Ogier et son nouveau copilote, Vincent Landais (Toyota).

The eight-time world champion, winner of the Catalonia Rally in October and first leader of the Japanese event last night, suffered a sudden puncture. “I didn’t feel anything special, the Frenchman defended himself. I still have a spare wheel but in any case my Rally Japan is already over”, he judges, taking into account his abysmal delay over his teammate Kalle Rovanperä, almost 3 minutes ahead of him!
