Rally Young people, let's go! The detection program, created by the French Motor Sport Federation (FFSA) in 1994, launched its 26th edition on Saturday, at the Chambley Circuit, in Meurthe-et-Moselle.
The candidates were first confronted with the first degree course. Consisting of a slalom and a handbrake half-turn, this first event saw 12 contenders do well. The qualifiers then competed against each other on the second level course. At the end of this route, longer and more technical than the previous one, the 5 fastest candidates obtained their place for the Grand Final. The first 5 finalists are therefore: Thibault Hickel, Quentin Marinho, Bastien Ferreira, Guillaume Steinmetz & Alex Hitziger.

“I am satisfied with this opening day, declared Nicolas Bernardi, head of the Youth Rally operation. On a circuit and in a department new to Rallye Jeunes Yacco FFSA, we had the opportunity to discover new young talents. What I saw today is very promising and all five finalists will definitely have their say in the final. »
The five young drivers will meet in Nîmes, in the Gard, from December 6 to 9 for the Grand Youth Rally Final. As Sébastien Ogier, Adrien fourmaux or Yohan Rossel before them, the finalists will compete for the prize promised to the winners: a Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup program within the French Rally Championship in 2023.
