The ACM modifies the route of Monte-Carlo 2023

The organizers of rally Monte-Carlo thought they had taken all the necessary steps last July so that the 90e editing is running correctly. This is why they were surprised when Éliane Barreille, the President of the Departmental Council of the Alpes de Haute-Provence, refused to give authorization to use the road between Saint-Geniez and Thoard, where the northernmost section was to be run. of the test. Despite the very short deadlines, an alternative solution was found. The 3e stage of the opening round of the 2023 season will not be reduced by two SS. The one having to take the Col de Fontbelle is replaced by the Le Fugeret/Thorame-Haute special, 16,80 km long, which returned this year after several years of absence. With this new route, the town of Digne-Les-Bains will not receive the tire changing area and the regrouping park which were to be held there. They will be organized in Puget-Théniers.
