Stéphane Lefebvre (DS 3) retired on the link between SS7 and SS8 of Rally of the Var. After suffering from driveshaft problems, the Frenchman made a mistake in the 7th special and finished the course at reduced speed.
David Salanon (Ford Fiesta WRC) took the lead of the rally and is now ahead of Kevin Abbring (Hyundai i20 R5) of around ten seconds. Yoann Bonato (DS 3 R5) climbs onto the provisional podium after taking advantage of the error of Franck Lions (Fiesta WRC) who lost more than 3 minutes following an exit from the track.
Gilles Panizzi (Peugeot 208 T16 R5) made good progress by climbing into the top five behind Sylvain Michel (Skoda Fabia R5), after taking advantage of the retirement of Quentin Giordano (208 T16 R5) who dismounted on the last link .
