Rally from the Pays de Fayence
24-25 September

Michèle Mouton and Ari Vatanen did not miss the 30th anniversary of this grandiose event bringing together the best drivers from the South, but also Patrick Magaud, back after 5 years of absence on a Toyota Celica GT Four (9th before its retirement in SS4) and especially the new Hyundai i20 R5 which made its first public appearance there, a week before its world debut at the Tour de Corse. Scheduled for the race, Stéphane Sarrazin finally officiated as usher for a full-scale test session, the car being awaiting approval! Frank Lions has finally defeated the black cat that has been chasing him for several months, like here last year, where he let a certain victory slip away by puncturing and hitting in preparation for the finish. This time the Grassois made a complete demonstration of his talent by completely dominating both stages to finally win the first scratch of his career. In his wake, Riberi made his place as runner-up and the Gr.R a private preserve, while 1rd position gave rise to a stressful duel between Féraud (victorious in 1) and Fanguiaire (four-time winner) who both discovered their news weapons. Another great fight, the one in F2000 which was played out in the 10th and final SS, where Pistachi dethroned Perrussel by 0”8! Honors to Franceschi father (5th) and son (6th), who are among the best national elements. R. Alezra
