Julien Maurin (Ford Fiesta WRC) widened the gap on his pursuers at Rally Mont-Blanc Morzine since he now has more than half a minute ahead of the Citroën C4 WRC of Jean-Marie Cuoq at the end of the first three special stages contested in this second stage. Eric Brunson (Subaru Impreza WRC) regained the advantage over the Mini JCW WRC of Pierre Roché to take third place with a 37-second lead. Lionel Baud (Peugeot 307 WRC) complète désormais le top cinq devant les Peugeot 207 S2000 de Frédéric Comte et Jérôme Chavanne qui devancent la Porsche 997 GT3 Cup de Gilles Nantet. Ludovic Gal (Ford Fiesta S2000), huitième à l’issue de la première étape, a abandonné dans le premier parcours du jour.
