Mexico, SS11 – Accident and retirement for Lappi!

The crew was trying to put out an outbreak of fire before the extinguisher was no longer functional. Arriving on the scene a few minutes later, Gus Greensmith (Skoda, WRC2 leader) lent a helping hand. The special was stopped for safety reasons.

In fact, with the abandonment of Lappi-Ferm, the French Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais (Toyota) prennent la tête du Rallye du Mexique. L’octuple champion du monde WRC had just recorded the best time when he learned the information about his Nordic opponent. “It’s really a shame,” he said. “ I'm really disappointed for Esapekka. He was doing a great job, yesterday he was super fast. It's a shame, the battle was beautiful. »
