Mexico – SS5: Mikkelsen abandons!

Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) abandoned in the second pass of El Chocolate, the SS5 of Rally from Mexico. The reasons for his stop are unknown, the Norwegian having stopped the first time to probably change a wheel.

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) signed the scratch by completing the 31,57km in 23'35''0 with 8 tenths ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai). Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) followed at 2 seconds, preceding Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) at 6 seconds and Kris Meeke (Toyota) at 8 seconds. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) dropped around ten seconds, preceding the Toyotas of Jari-Matti Latvala and Ott Tänak.

 

 

The retirement of Andreas Mikkelsen allows Sébastien Ogier to take the lead of the Rally of Mexico with almost 2 seconds ahead of Dani Sordo. Elfyn Evans finds herself on the provisional podium with 7 seconds ahead of Kris Meeke. Esapekka Lappi gains two places and finds himself in the Top 5, one second ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Ott Tänak is in 7th place ahead of Thierry Neuville.
