Sébastien Ogier silenced the most skeptical. The Frenchman signed an 8th scratch on the Rally Monte-Carlo en s’imposant sur l’ES15. Surtout, l’octuple champion du monde a augmenté son avance au général en reprenant 2″7 sur Kalle Rovanperä. Désormais, l’écart s’élève à 18″7 entre les deux pilotes Toyota.

On this 15th special, it is a new Toyota hat-trick which monopolizes the top of the ranking. Elfyn Evans came between Ogier and Rovanperä. The Welshman shaved off a few seconds Thierry Neuville (author of a spin at the start of the special), but the gap overall between the two men is still significant: the Belgian has a 22-second margin over Evans for 3rd place.

Pierre-Louis Loubet returned to the track this Sunday morning after his abandonment yesterday. The Frenchman drove very quietly to preserve his tires for the Power Stage... but is already a victim of his mechanics, since the handbrake on the Ford Puma failed. An essential element for the passage of the Col de Turini at the end of the rally…
