He was smiling after his visit and for good reason. With a very efficient Ford Puma, Gus Greensmith achieved a very good performance. Antepenultimate driver to pass in this SS7, the Englishman temporarily took the lead while waiting for the passages of Oliver Solberg and Sébastien Loeb. And what was supposed to be temporary then became real. The Alsatian beaten by 2"9, the Briton could exult in his car as he signed the first scratch of his career in WRC.
Overall, Sébastien Loeb concedes 1"5 but maintains a 14"4 lead over Sébastien Ogier who moved back in front of Elfyn Evans, now 3rd at 15” from the lead. Behind the leading trio, Thierry Neuville, Craig Breen, Ott Tänak and Gus Grensmith are holding their own since less than 8 seconds separate 4th from 7th.
