Monte-Carlo – SS9: Evans starts on the right foot

This is Elfyn Evans' first special victory in this Rally Monte-Carlo 2022. The third driver to pass, the Welshman got rid of Kalle Rovanperä, leader since the start of the special, with a time of 9'12"8, 7 tenths faster than the Finn.

Third on arrival, Sébastien Ogier narrows the gap with leader Sébastien Loeb. The Gapençais takes back 3“4 and is now at 6“5. The next four specials promise! Elfyn Evans remains in ambush in 3rd position, 14” from the lead.

Note thatOtt Tänak dropped out for more than a minute due to a left-rear puncture. The Estonian no longer has a spare tire for the rest of this first loop.
