From this Monte-Carlo 2022, Ott Tänak will not have good memories of it. In tough conditions since the first special stages on Thursday evening, the Estonian has never managed to perform well at the wheel of the new i20 Hybrid Rally1.
This Saturday, Ott Tänak made the daring bet of starting with 5 tires, none of which were snow or studded. Result: puncture on the first special and small impact on the rock wall during SS11. Dumped in the race for victory, the 2019 world champion was forced to retire for the rest of the day due to this small accident in the last special of the first loop of the day. The Estonian will be back this Sunday to try to get some points during the Power Stage.
