Monza, SS1: Ogier knocks out the competition!
There will be no observation round in this final of the World Rally Championship (WRC) 2021. On a mountainous and asphalt special in the foothills of Lombardy, Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia (Toyota) ont frappé fort.
Les Français, en lice pour un huitième sacre, ont distancé la concurrence avec la manière. Les uniques rivaux pour la couronne, Elfyn Evans et Scott Martin (Toyota, 2e), sont distancés de 3″6 ! Spécialiste du tarmac, Dani Sordo (Hyundai) concède plus de 6″. Les rookies au volant d’une Rally1 à Monza Oliver Solberg (Hyundai) et Adrien fourmaux (Ford) are doing well, with the 5th and 6th times, more than 11″.
Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota), although the fastest of the shakedown, is absent from the top of the table. The Finn follows a team directive not to over-attack in order to secure the Constructors' title.
