Faced with multiple cancellations and calendar changes, Peugeot Sport has decided not to create a general classification for the 208 Rally Cup 2020, which highlighted the all-new 208 Rally4.

“The cancellation of the Critérium des Cévennes forced us to review our orientations for the 208 Rally Cup 2020, indicates the Lion mark. The health crisis and the bad weather which is hitting us do not allow us to decently maintain a championship in optimal conditions and respectful of the situation in France.

Of the 7 rallies registered on the 2020 sporting calendar of the 208 Rally Cup, we were only able to contest the rally of Mont Blanc. We all hope that the Rallye du Var – as long as the situation improves – takes place and allows us to close this difficult year together.

Peugeot Sport wanted to maintain the race bonuses. For Mont-Blanc of course but also for Var if the event is maintained.

However, due to this exceptional situation, the lack of recorded sporting results, which is the only guarantee of sporting fairness, does not allow Peugeot Sport to establish a representative final ranking. 2020 will therefore be a blank season and cancels the general classification of the 208 Rally Cup.

We are already working on the 2021 season of the 208 Rally Cup with significant changes to its regulations. The objective is to make you run in the best conditions. »

For the record, Mathieu Franceschi had pocketed the specific classification at Mont-Blanc.
