Paulin on the edge at the Suran Rally

From the outset we witnessed a magnificent fight between Crétien, Paulin, Coppens (Skoda Fabia) and Gherardi (C3 R5). The first named returned to the head of the 1re stage 4” ahead of Gherardi and 6” ahead of Paulin. On Saturday, Gherardi gave up after SS3 due to mechanical problems, letting Crétien slip towards a possible third victory since the latter continued to line up the scratch points to own mid-point.rally 29'' ahead of Paulin. The twist came on SS 9, where Crétien left the road. Paulin only had to finish in the final time to sign his first victory on this field. The local Roux climbed onto the final podium but more than 2' from the leading duo.

In group A, Hugon won by only 3” ahead of Merle. After the abandonment of Michaud (309) mid-event, the F2000 revenait à Artzner. Dans le Groupe N, suprématie totale de Mollas qui signait huit meilleurs temps sur les neuf du rallye après avoir failli abandonner très tôt (ES2). Seul engagé en GT, Deplatiere (Porsche 996) abandonnait sur problèmes mécaniques dans l’ES6 alors qu’il pointait à la 10e place in general. F. Lombard
