Sébastien Ogier (Ford) signed the scratch in the 22,3km of Cabeceiras do Basto, 14th special of the Rally from Portugal, completed in 13'31''0. The pilot M-Sport ahead of its direct rival Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) of 4''5, followed closely by the Toyota by Jari-Matti Latvala and Esapekka Lappi. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) follows almost 8s ahead of the Citroëns of Kris Meeke and Craig Breen. Mads Ostberg (Ford) is almost 15 seconds ahead of Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) and Elfyn Evans (Ford).
Juho Hänninen (Toyota) lost more than a minute following mechanical problems which could be a fuel pressure problem.
Sébastien Ogier now has a lead of 23 seconds over Thierry Neuville. Dani Sordo is now 12”5 behind the Belgian. Craig Breen remains 4th ahead Ott Tänak. Elfyn Evans climbs to 6th place, followed by a dozen seconds by Esapekka Lappi. Juho Hänninen fell to 8th position ahead of Mads Ostberg and Jari-Matti Latvala.
