It’s definitely a Black Friday for French rallymen named Sébastien! A few hours after Sébastien Loeb's retirement at the very start of SS5, it is now Sébastien Ogier who was forced to throw in the towel in SS7. The Gapençais had been already suffered a puncture during the previous special, which had extinguished his chances of victory losing more than two minutes. Finding himself without spare wheels, Sébastien Ogier was therefore at the mercy of the elements. And the very brittle nature of Rally The Portuguese once again did not spare him. After suffering another puncture, Ogier was forced to leave the special.

In the general classification, the abandonment of Ogier does not upset the table.
