The final podium corresponded – an extremely rare occurrence – to the order of the numbers of the WRC who entered it: Pierre Roché's Skoda climbing to the top step with a comfortable lead, widened during the attack on the night loop. With a record number of starters, the Saint Emilion remains the flagship event in Aquitaine, but also one of the most difficult. The large audience, appreciating the availability of Ari Vatanen who spent the whole day in Puisseguin, witnessed the exploits of Ulbert (despite rapid tire wear), Lacouture (auto reassembled at the last minute), even Orillac (Saxo) and Terrière (C2 S1600) who could not conclude. New victory for Sauteur in group N; Patier and Derory competed with their Subarus before giving up, Vayssière saving the honor of the Japanese brand. Great conclusion in the GT group from Thabard, on an extremely rare Clio V6. J.Teitgen
