Rally of La Lys. April 23-24

Following his momentum from Epernay, Laurent Bayard once again showed himself to be uncompromising on one of his two favorite hunting grounds. The driver of the always competitive Corolla WRC set off briskly in the dry, taking the lead with a 35” lead over the solid Hendy. Alas, the leader of the now usual British delegation left for the count in the more tricky Sunday loop. His compatriot Coffey then took the silver medal after taking advantage of a poor morning choice of tires made by Barbara. Excellent all weekend, Lapouille managed to regain the upper hand in his internal struggle with Christiann, entered on a rental horse. In group N, Debove, with poor shoes, was overtaken in the final by Leduc, returning to the competition now with a 4WD. On the side of F2000, Legrand returned to success after a difficult 2015 season. Its main rival, Lance, had disappeared too quickly. B.Sailly
