Absent from the calendar for three seasons, the rally de l'Indre returns this year to its end of season date (November 4-5). The postponement of the 2020 Châteauroux final due to Covid, then its organization in 2021 explain these three years of absence. The organizers of ASA Berry and Ecurie Berrichonne, keen to protect local residents and elected officials, have long opted for alternation between the Valençay region which hosted the 2019 edition and that of Buzançais this year, both in northern Berry.

The rally is full of competitors thanks to a competitively priced entry for nearly 130 km of special stages: ten in total to be covered three times plus a prologue on Friday evening. If the quantity is there, on the other hand there is a lack of headliners to close the France 2 championshipe division, none of the three future drivers on the 2022 podium being entered.
