Rally Sweden, SS3 – Rovanperä’s reaction

In difficulty in the first special of Friday morning, Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) took advantage of a more icy road to resurface on this Rally from Sweden. The Finn, the opener throughout this stage, is back at the head of the event, still led by Ott Tänak (M-Sport Ford).

“In some corners the ice layer was very heavy so I could attack, but in other corners it was not the case, commented Kalle Rovanperä. I could have been more careful in these passages, because my goal remains to ride cleanly. »

“It’s completely different terrain from the first ES, said Ott Tänak. The previous SS was snowy and this one is icy. “Satisfied” is probably too strong a word for me, but we are at the finish at least. »

In the general classification, Tänak has a margin of 1″9 over Craig Breen, while Kalle Rovanperä gets closer to 4″9 (4th). Elfyn Evans (Toyota) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) continue to lose weight and complain of understeer.

In WRC2, Emil Lindholm (Skoda) lost 1'40"! The 2022 category champion was leader but blocked his radiator with snow following a driving error. The Finn is unscrewing in the general classification.
