After his victory in 2017, the ten-time French champion returned as the big favorite in this event. In difficult weather conditions, Cuoq performed flawlessly without ever being worried by his opponents to win masterfully for the fourth time in this rally.
Behind, Da Cunha, who discovered the event with a view to scoring points for the final of the Coupe de France, was never really able to worry the leader. As he walked serenely towards a beautiful 2eInstead, a problem caused him to lose a lot of time in the penultimate time trial, letting the local Roussat catch up on him. In the final SS, Da Cunha attacked to regain 18” from Roussat in just 10 km and climbed back onto the second step of the podium, with victory in Group R as a bonus ahead of Baratay. For the Group F2000, Muret (BMW 318 Compact) sortait de la route dans l’ES 6 et laissait le champ libre à Perrin qui s’imposait avec plus de 2’ d’avance sur Jamet (Clio). Dans le Groupe N, Derory signait sept meilleurs temps sur neuf et s’imposait sans aucun souci. En Groupe GT, Dutreuil (Porsche GT3), seul engagé, abandonnait sur problèmes mécaniques dans l’ES 5 F.
