After its unfortunate release at the start of the year at rally of Haute-Provence while he was well in the lead, Damien Daumas this time achieved a flawless performance in the Hautes-Alpes. From the outset, the Sisteronais dug a huge gap on his opponents by accumulating the scratch times, finishing 1re stage ahead of Saunier at 1'35'' and Ganguet, the leader of group A, at 2'26''. Second overall until SS4, Damien Oberti was knocked out of the race for remaining more than 20'' on the starting line of SS5 (blown electrical box on his Fiesta R5).

The next day, Daumas continued his demonstration to finish with a full success after having won 9 times out of 9. Untouchable in group A, Ganguet finally took 2e place, Saunier downgrading to 8e position due to a mechanical problem in the last SS. In a big fight with Pascal and Schifano, Poizot (1er R3) deservedly reached the podium. Like last year, the Porsche driver Estienne (then 5e of the general and 1er GT) had abandoned on Saturday. R.
