Rallye Epernay – Quentin Giordano in front, Christophe Wilt keeps pace.

Quentin Giordano and Kevin Parent (Polo Rally 2) took control of the Epernay Vins de Champagne rally from SS1 this Saturday. The Sarrazin Motorsport crew continued in SS 2 before being surprised on a straightaway, leaving the SS3 scratch to the winner of the 2021 edition Christophe Wilt associated with Mélanie Grandjean (Polo Rallye 2). 0,6 seconds separating the two crews at the end of the first loop.

In SS4 it was the turn of Wilt, leader of the Michelin Rallye Tour in 4WD, to leave a few seconds on a figure. Giordano set the three best times of the loop even though the snow came to mix in the proceedings. Giordano then leads by 10,8s ahead of Wilt.

At night, Giordano pockets the three stages “A good day, we come in first. We didn’t make a mistake, just a small one.” . He completed the first stage in the lead 23,6s ahead of Wilt “We are in our place, we cannot look for him” and Mickael Reydellet/Thomas Chauffrey at 38,5s.
