Japan, SS15: Evans leads the charge

Elfyn Evans (Toyota) s’est rapproché à seulement 0″6 du leader Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) lors de la première spéciale dominicale du Rally of Japan 2022.

Rain is expected later in the loop, and service ahead of SS15 was the only opportunity for drivers to choose their tires.

Toyota gambled on no rain and only took hard or soft tires, while both Hyundai drivers took two wet tires as part of their six-tire package. Which explains the ease with which Elfyn Evans set the best time in this ES.

In WRC2, we are seeing a change of third place for the benefit of Teemu Suninen (Hyundai) compared to Grégoire Munster (Hyundai).
