Jean-Behra Rally: Riberi without respite

Winner last year, Bruno Riberi won a second success in a row in this event in the Nice hinterland, contested this year on a single stage due to the legislative elections. If the Monegasque dominated from start to finish with his Ford Fiesta, the fight was diabolical and permanent with his runner-up Nicolas Vouilloz, author of 2 scratches.

Unlucky at rally from Antibes (key and engine), Riberi masterfully made up for it by managing his course perfectly against his rival: avoiding losing concentration after two endless neutralizations (leading to the cancellation of the 8th and final ES), our man was doubled in the 6th stage (Col de la Madone), increasing his lead to 8”1.

Taking part in this event for the first time, Vouilloz attempted a last stand in the final special, finishing at the finish 1”4 behind. Excellent 2th overall, Moni (4 F2/14) saw his performance destroyed by losing more than 5' in the 6th SS, leaving the victory in F2000 to Pistachi. Note the simultaneous retirements from the 2nd qualifying of the R5s of Haut-Labourdette (Fiesta), Deplanche (Fiesta) and Courchet (Skoda).
