Axel Garcia and his co-driver Fabien Pomares will be entered in 2014 at the wheel of a Renault Twingo RS R2 Evo from Renault Sport Technologies. The 2013 French Junior Rally champions will take part in eight events this season, six as part of the French Rally Championship and two as part of the French Terrestrial Rally Championship.
Renault Sport preferred to mix the surfaces so that the Garcia-Pomares duo benefits from the best possible experience. The first round on the Hérault calendar will be rally du Touquet (March 14-15).
“I can't wait to discover this car, to see its full potential (Editor's note: a session will be planned at the Pôle Mécanique d'Alès and in Aveyron on February 18 and 19). I will have a lot to learn, the power, the sequential gearbox, the settings. Our goal will also be to rack up the kilometers to feel comfortable in the Twingo. I am looking forward to working with Renault Sport. Driving for a manufacturer with such a history in rallying is a source of great pride. I hope that our collaboration will be fruitful.
